Mount Oswald - Public inquiry to start on 10 June

I have just spoken to the Planning Department who tell me that the public inquiry on Banks Ltd application to develop Mount Oswald will start on 10 June and is expected to last six days.

The location of the inquiry is still to be settled which is why objectors have not yet been notified, but letters should be going out soon giving us the details.

    Nigel,
I appreciate you are concentrating on the election, but who took the decision to hold the Appeal at the Hospice? What an inappropriate venue!!
Also what do you feel we should be doing now. There doesn’t seem to be an Action Group as there is in Elvet. Is that a good or bad thing?
Is it worth writing more letters to the Inspector, or will they just feel this is repeating what was submitted to the Council?

    Hi Judith,
Not sure who is responsible for finding the appeal location, but the Hospice does have a good public room and there is quite a lot of off-street parking nearby.
The inspectors will have all the letters that objectors wrote to the council and any further submissions made directly to them before their March deadline.
I think it would be a good idea to have a pre-meeting of those who want to be involved directly in the Inquiry.
My understanidng is that anyone can turn up on the first day and ask to be heard at some point in the process. It must be a good idea to get the objections well-organised and not too repetitive.
I’ll talk to colleagues about this next week.
